🏃 Sprint Into the Holidays at Steel & Oak’s Great Grocery Run! 🥫 

Lace up, New West — The Great Grocery Run is back at Steel & Oak Brewing Co. on Saturday, December 6 at 12pm, and it’s one of the most joyful (and delightfully quirky!) holiday traditions in town. This 3km fun run isn’t about speed… it’s about how many canned goods you can carry while you run! The more cans you finish with, the better your time — and every single can goes straight to supporting local families. It’s silly, spirited, and all for a great cause.

After crossing the finish line, head back to the brewery for hot chocolate, a fresh S&O beer, festive vibes, and a full Holiday Market buzzing with local makers. It’s the perfect feel-good way to kick off your Saturday: a little movement, a lot of heart, and tons of community cheer.

The run begins at Steel & Oak Brewing Co., and limited extra parking is available across the street at ICBC (so carpool if you can!).

🍪 Sweet Time Together: Community Christmas Baking Party 🍰 

If the smell of fresh baking and the joy of sharing treats is your love language, this cozy community gathering is for you! The Literary Lounge at Wildfires Bookshop is hosting a sweet and simple Christmas Baking Party — the perfect way to connect with neighbours, swap holiday goodies, and fill your home (and heart!) with festive cheer.

Guests are invited to bring 1–2 dozen homemade treats, along with a small card listing ingredients or the recipe. In return, you’ll head home with a delicious assortment of baked goods from others in the room. Tea, coffee, and plenty of holiday warmth will be on hand — just don’t forget your Tupperware!

Space is limited to 35 people, so be sure to claim your spot early. Once you’ve picked your treat of choice, comment on the event post so organizers can avoid 35 trays of gingerbread men!
