Salmon-Themed Family Fun Returns

Spring is a time of new beginnings — and at the Fraser River Discovery Centre, it’s all about celebrating the incredible journey of salmon.

From April 3 to 5, families and visitors are invited to dive into a weekend of interactive, salmon-themed activities and games that explore how these fish grow, survive, and navigate the Fraser River.

Each day features hands-on experiences that bring science to life. In the morning, participants can test water quality in the Fraser River and learn how it impacts salmon survival. In the afternoon, visitors can explore the salmon life cycle and even design their own fish ladder, discovering how these structures help salmon overcome obstacles on their journey.

Perfect for curious minds of all ages, this event offers a fun and educational way to connect with local wildlife and the river that shapes the region.

Looking for a creative and relaxing way to spend your Saturday? Step into an afternoon of art and music at the Sip, Paint & Sketch Session on March 28 at the Gallery at Queen’s Park.

Inspired by Taylor Swift’s folklore album, this unique session invites participants to create their own visual interpretation of the music in a cozy, gallery setting. Surrounded by the HEDGELORE: Thirteen Verses exhibition — a collection of oil paintings inspired by the same album — you’ll have plenty of inspiration to spark your creativity.

Bring your own art supplies, whether it’s a sketchbook, paints, or tablet, and enjoy a self-guided creative session with a full album listening experience. Complimentary beverages will be provided to keep things relaxed and flowing.

Whether you’re an experienced artist or just looking to unwind, this welcoming session is all about creativity, connection, and inspiration.
