Another scam is making the rounds, and this one is pretending to be from Service Canada.

Residents have reported receiving text messages claiming to be officially authorized and even signed by the President of the Public Service Commission. These messages are not legitimate.

👉 Important to know:
Service Canada will never contact you by text message.
Any text claiming to be from Service Canada should be treated as a scam.

These messages are designed to look official and may try to create urgency to get you to click a link or share personal information. Do not click, reply, or provide any details.

If you or someone you know receives a message like this, delete it immediately and help spread the word—especially to seniors, family members, and anyone who may be more vulnerable to fraud.

Knowledge is power. Stay informed and stay safe.

🎯 Support RCCC’s Team Fitzgibbon — and Win Big!

Team Fitzgibbon is heading to the U20 Sudbury Nationals, and the Royal City Curling Club is rallying community support with a fun and prize-packed fundraising raffle.

For just $5 per ticket or $20 for five tickets, supporters have a chance to win some incredible prizes, including Vancouver Canucks tickets, PWHL Golden Eye tickets, a case of assorted wines, and a bundle of popular gift cards from Sephora, Amazon, and more.

The raffle draw takes place on February 14, 2026 — Valentine’s Day, making it a perfect way to treat yourself or someone special while supporting local athletes.

Tickets can be purchased via e-transfer or in person with cash, and raffle tickets will be emailed after payment is received. Winners will select prizes in the order their ticket is drawn.
