Looking for a new job or ready to explore your next career move? WorkBC New Westminster and the New Westminster Public Library are teaming up to host a free job fair on September 3 at Anvil Centre.

The 2026 September Job Fair will bring together more than 30 employers from high-demand industries across Metro Vancouver, giving job seekers an opportunity to meet recruiters, discover career opportunities and learn about current hiring needs directly from employers.

Confirmed exhibitors include the City of Burnaby, ICBC, RBC, Corrections Service of Canada, GFL Environmental, Kruger Products, Pacific Blue Cross, Providence Healthcare, Coca-Cola Bottling, BCIT, Paladin Security and many other employers and organizations.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, at Anvil Centre, located at 777 Columbia Street in New Westminster, just steps from New Westminster SkyTrain Station.

Whether you're actively searching for work, considering a career change or simply curious about what's available in the local job market, the event offers a chance to connect directly with employers under one roof.

The job fair is free to attend and will be held in person.

The New Westminster Public Library is wrapping up its biggest Summer Reading Club yet with a free family celebration at Anvil Centre on September 5.

The Summer Reading Club Wrap-up Party will take place from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 5, at 777 Columbia Street, bringing young readers and their families together for an afternoon packed with fun, music and activities.

The celebration will feature a family dance party with DJ Rock 'n' Beau, a live mermaid visit and a variety of hands-on activities for children and families.

Guests can also explore activities with the New Westminster Museum and Archives, pick up a free book through Literacy New West, and enjoy a toddler zone hosted by New West Family Place.

A photo booth, calm sensory space and other activities will also be available, giving families plenty of ways to join the celebration at their own pace.

The event is free and everyone is welcome. More information is available through the New Westminster Public Library's events page.
