Spring is here—and it's time to light up the dance floor! 🎉
Calling all middle schoolers ages 11 to 13—Petals & Beats is your chance to kick off the season in style! On Saturday, June 7, Century House transforms into a glowing spring dance party packed with energy, music, and fun vibes just for you.
From 7:00 to 9:30 p.m., you’ll be moving to the beats of Bridge City Sound’s Youth DJs, surrounded by colorful lights, awesome giveaways, and your favorite snacks from the concession stand. Whether you're hyped to dance or just want to chill with friends, this is the place to be.
🎟 Tickets are just $5 with a Youth Services Membership or $7 for non-members—but don’t wait! You must register by May 30 to join the party. Use barcode 226856 to sign up at any New Westminster Parks and Recreation facility or online.
💡 Heads up: You'll need valid ID (like a student card or Youth Services membership) to get in, so bring it with you!

The Queensborough Children’s Festival is returning to the Queensborough Community The Queensborough Children’s Festival returns to the Queensborough Community Centre on Saturday, June 14, 2025, offering a lively and engaging day for families. Hosted by the Queensborough Special Programs Committee, this free event is all about celebrating childhood with activities tailored especially for kids.
From 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the community centre at 920 Ewen Avenue in New Westminster will be transformed into a festive hub of excitement. Families can look forward to a variety of fun experiences, including arts and crafts, face painting, interactive games, panda rides, and a lineup of stage performances featuring talented local youth.
Entertainment highlights include performances by Music with Marnie and Merlin the Musician, with more acts scheduled throughout the day. New additions this year include a whimsical circus tent, a joyful bubble station, and an unforgettable chance to meet the stunning birds from Greyhaven Sanctuary.
Both indoor and outdoor activities ensure there's something for everyone, rain or shine. Visitors can also enjoy tasty eats from the Knights of Columbus BBQ, grab refreshing KONA shaved ice, and check out the main atrium’s marketplace of young local entrepreneurs showcasing handmade goods.
Guests are encouraged to walk or take public transit due to limited parking. With community connection, imaginative play, and joyful entertainment at its core, the festival promises a day full of memories for children and families alike.
