Take Your Game Further

For young athletes in New Westminster looking to take their game to the next level, this summer brings a powerful opportunity to train, grow, and build confidence on the field.

RCHFC Hyacks Youth Football, in partnership with RAW Sports Training, is hosting a Summer Football Camp designed to help players sharpen their skills and push their limits in a supportive, high-energy environment.

The camp focuses on key areas of development, including:

  • Speed and agility

  • Position-specific skills

  • Strength and conditioning

  • Game awareness and confidence

Open to athletes at different stages of their football journey, the program is built to challenge participants while keeping the experience fun, motivating, and team-driven.

Led by experienced coaches and guest trainers, the camp offers a space where young players can learn, improve, and connect with others who share the same passion for the game.

With limited spots available, early registration is encouraged.

IA quick response from both the public and police helped bring a situation under control in New Westminster earlier this week.

On April 6 around 1:20 p.m., New Westminster Police responded to two 9-1-1 calls reporting a man assaulting a woman near Nanaimo Street and 18th Street.

Officers arrived quickly, located both individuals, and arrested the suspect without incident. The woman received immediate assistance at the scene, while officers began speaking with witnesses.

Police say the fast actions of those who called 9-1-1 played a key role in the outcome, allowing officers to locate the suspect while he was still nearby.

Beyond the immediate response, support continues after the incident. The NWPD Victim Assistance Unit is available 24/7, offering trauma-informed care and connecting individuals with the resources they need.

The incident is a reminder of the importance of looking out for one another β€” and that help is available for those who need it.
