Make Reading an Adventure This Summer

Looking for a fun, free way to keep kids reading this summer? The New Westminster Public Library's Summer Reading Club returns on June 13, offering young readers a season full of stories, prizes, and reading adventures.

Open to children and teens, the popular program encourages participants to read for fun throughout the summer while earning stickers, collecting rewards, and working toward one of the program's most coveted achievements — the Summer Reading Club medal.

Designed to inspire a lifelong love of reading, the club helps young readers stay engaged, discover new books, and build confidence while school is out. Best of all, participation is completely free.

Whether your child is already a bookworm or just beginning their reading journey, the Summer Reading Club offers a fun way to stay curious, creative, and connected all summer long.

Looking for a fun excuse to explore New Westminster this summer? The New West Bar Bingo – World Cup Edition is inviting residents and visitors to discover some of the city's favourite pubs, breweries, and gathering spots while competing for prizes.

Running from June 1 to July 31, the challenge encourages participants to visit nine participating locations, purchase a beverage, and collect validations on their bingo card. The more lines you complete, the more entries you'll earn for prize draws, with a full card worth the biggest chance to win.

Participating venues include River's Reach Pub, Kelly O'Bryan's, Begbie's, The Terminal Pub, Hops, Thirsty Duck, Sapperton District Taphouse, Howe Sound Brewing, and Notorious Grey Fox.

Beyond the prizes, the event shines a spotlight on New Westminster's vibrant hospitality scene, encouraging residents to support local pubs, breweries, and restaurants during the busy summer season and upcoming World Cup celebrations.

Whether you're a craft beer enthusiast, a pub trivia regular, or simply looking to discover new local favourites, this summer-long bingo challenge offers a fun way to experience the best of New West.
