A quiet night in Queensborough took a violent turn just after midnight on August 1, when New Westminster Police were called to a reported fight near the 800 block of Ewen Avenue. Officers arrived swiftly and found a man suffering from what appeared to be stab wounds.
Police immediately provided emergency first aid, working to control the bleeding before BC Emergency Health Services transported the victim to the hospital. The man’s current condition has not been released.
The incident is believed to have occurred near a bus stop, and officers from the Major Crime Unit are actively investigating. Expect to see a visible police presence in the area as they gather evidence and speak to potential witnesses.
Police are emphasizing that this appears to be an isolated incident and that there is no further risk to the public. Still, they are urging anyone who may have seen or heard something unusual in the area around the time of the incident to come forward.
