Get ready to step back in time for a lively evening of swing jazz, dancing, and community fun in New Westminster. The Uptown Swing Collective is hosting Jazz Cats Social at Century House in Moody Park, inviting music lovers and dancers alike to enjoy a night of live big band music.

The evening features live performances by the Impressions Big Band, along with DJ Lawrence spinning tunes between sets. Guests can start the night with a beginner Lindy Hop dance lesson at 6:45 p.m., making it easy for newcomers to join in the fun. No partner is required.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and live music and social dancing kick off at 7:30 p.m.

The event also doubles as a jazz jam, where musicians are invited to bring their instruments and sit in with the band for a song or two. Those interested in participating are encouraged to arrive early to sign up, as spots are limited.

Tickets are $22 in advance and include light refreshments and the dance lesson. Capacity is limited, so early registration is recommended.

Whether you're dancing, playing, or just soaking up the music, Jazz Cats Social promises a welcoming and energetic evening in the heart of the city.

Arts New West is introducing something new to the 2026 exhibition lineup at The Gallery at Queen’s Park: a series of Pop-Up Exhibitions designed to spotlight emerging artists in a relaxed and welcoming gallery setting.

Running during the last week of each month from March to August, these week-long exhibitions will give local and emerging creatives the opportunity to share their work with the community while offering visitors something new to discover each month.

The first exhibition in the series, “Hedgelore: Stepping into Folklore,” will feature the work of artist Tina Rezvani and will run March 23 to 29. The exhibition invites visitors to explore themes of folklore and storytelling through art in an intimate gallery experience.

Pop-Up Exhibitions aim to make art more accessible while providing a platform for artists to experiment, share ideas, and connect with audiences in New Westminster.

Whether you're an art lover, curious visitor, or someone looking for creative inspiration, these short exhibitions offer a great reason to stop by the gallery and see what’s new.
