Starting April 20, TransLink is rolling out expanded bus service across Metro Vancouver — and New Westminster is among the communities seeing a noticeable boost, with over 8,000 additional service hours across seven routes.

For local riders, that means:

  • More frequent buses

  • Less crowding during busy times

  • Better connections to nearby cities like Burnaby, Vancouver, and beyond

One key improvement includes added service on the #106 route, a vital link connecting New Westminster and Edmonds Station, helping ease pressure on one of the region’s busier corridors.

These changes are part of a broader effort to improve transit reliability and make daily commutes smoother — whether you’re heading to work, school, or simply getting around the city.

For a community like New Westminster, where many residents rely on transit, the added service brings more flexibility, shorter waits, and a more comfortable ride.
