Want a closer look at the future of transportation in Metro Vancouver? Industry professionals will have the opportunity to connect directly with TransLink leaders during the upcoming Client Engagement Breakfast at Anvil Centre on June 16.
Hosted by the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies of BC (ACEC-BC), the event will bring together consulting professionals, transportation stakeholders, and public-sector leaders for a morning of networking, presentations, and discussion.
Attendees can expect updates on TransLink's current priorities, projects, and future plans, followed by an interactive question-and-answer session with senior representatives from the organization. The event is designed to encourage collaboration, knowledge sharing, and meaningful dialogue between industry professionals and regional transportation leaders.
Participants can attend either in person at Anvil Centre or virtually through an interactive livestream. The event begins with networking and breakfast at 7:30 a.m., followed by presentations and Q&A from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
With major transportation investments and infrastructure projects shaping communities across Metro Vancouver, the event offers a valuable opportunity to hear directly from the people helping guide the region's transit future.
Tea lovers and lifelong learners are invited to steep themselves in Indigenous knowledge and plant traditions at the upcoming Indigenous Tea Blending Workshop at the Fraser River Discovery Centre on June 13.
Led by Senaqwila Wyss, an ethnobotanist, educator, and founder of an Indigenous tea company, this interactive workshop offers participants a unique opportunity to explore medicinal and culturally significant plants through Indigenous perspectives. Guests will learn about wellness, reciprocity with the land, and Coast Salish teachings while participating in a guided tea tasting and blending experience.
The hands-on session includes creating and packaging a custom loose-leaf tea blend to take home, making it both an educational and sensory experience. Along the way, participants will gain insight into the cultural significance of plants and their role in Indigenous traditions and daily life.
The workshop takes place June 13 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and is open to participants 16 years and older. Space is limited and advance registration is required.
