Summer in New Westminster is about to get a whole lot louder. The popular Uptown Live Summer Series is returning bigger than ever in 2026, expanding to 24 days of free live entertainment across 12 weekends from June 27 to September 13.

After a successful debut last year, the series has doubled in size, bringing live music and performances to Uptown every Saturday and Sunday throughout the summer. Organizers say the expanded schedule will create more opportunities for residents and visitors to explore Uptown, discover local talent, and support neighbourhood businesses.

In addition to weekly performances, this year's lineup includes three special themed events: Circus & Magic (July 4), Urban Beats (July 25), and Cultural Fusion (September 5). These larger activation days will feature multiple performers and activities at locations including Uptown Plaza, Royal City Centre, JJ Bean, and Rocky Point Ice Cream.

The expanded series is expected to bring more foot traffic, energy, and economic activity to Uptown businesses while creating a vibrant summer atmosphere for the community.

Best of all, every performance is free to attend.

Looking to connect with your community, meet new people, and celebrate the diversity that makes New Westminster special? The New to New West Intercultural Festival and Information Fair is bringing residents together for a free day of culture, learning, and community connection on June 20.

Hosted at New Westminster Secondary School, the family-friendly event will feature information about local services, employment resources, education opportunities, mental health supports, and community programs. Visitors can also enjoy multicultural games, interactive activities, guest speakers, free snacks, and opportunities to learn about Indigenous Peoples, perspectives, and the land we call home.

A special highlight is the Resume Clinic, where employment experts will provide one-on-one feedback for job seekers. Participants are encouraged to bring a resume and two job postings for personalized support.

Organizers say the event is designed to create a welcoming space where people of all ages, cultures, languages, and backgrounds can build connections and discover opportunities available in New Westminster.

Admission is free, no ID is required, and multilingual volunteers will be on hand throughout the day.
