A festive and feel-good holiday gathering is planned as Vegan Girls Club hosts its Holiday Party Potluck & Clothing Swap on Thursday, December 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at BOSA RiverSky 1, located at 908 Quayside Drive. The event invites vegan and vegan-curious women to celebrate the season together in a warm, inclusive setting overlooking the Fraser River.
Guests are encouraged to bring a vegan dish to share along with gently used clothing for a fun and sustainable clothing swap. The evening combines plant-based dining, community connection, and eco-conscious fashion in the building’s rooftop party room, offering a cozy atmosphere for conversation and celebration.
As a special incentive, the first 10 ticket holders will receive six months of free membership with ThisIsPlantCurious. A small registration fee helps cover room rental costs. Tickets are required, and refunds are not available.
With its mix of food, sustainability, and festive spirit, the event offers a refreshing way to celebrate the holidays close to home.
An evening of calm, reflection, and musical beauty awaits as the Vancouver Cantata Singers present Christmas Reprise XXII on Saturday, December 20, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at Sanctuary on 6th, formerly known as Queens Avenue United Church. Doors open at 7 p.m., with free parking available.
This popular annual concert blends traditional carols and contemporary Christmas works, performed a cappella in the church’s resonant acoustic space. The program includes beloved favourites such as It Came Upon a Midnight Clear by Miles Ramsay and Franz Biebl’s Ave Maria, alongside the premiere of a newly commissioned arrangement, I Wash My Face in a Golden Vase by Sophia Colpitts.
Designed as a moment of stillness amid the holiday bustle, the performance invites audiences of all ages to slow down and enjoy the expressive power of choral singing. Tickets range from $15 to $40, with no refunds available.
