Collectors, treasure hunters and nostalgia fans have a big weekend ahead as the FVACC Vintage Antiques Collectibles Summer Show returns to New Westminster’s Queen’s Park Arena on August 28 and 29.
The two-day event will feature more than 200 tables filled with vintage collectibles, antiques and quirky finds. Shoppers can browse everything from vinyl records, toys, postcards and old photographs to vintage clothing, advertising signs, sports memorabilia, pottery, jewelry, coins, books, tools and retro home décor.
For serious collectors, early entry runs Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. for $20 and includes admission on both days. The regular public show runs Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with admission set at $5.
Admission at the door is cash only, and there is no ATM on site, although some vendors accept debit or credit.

New Westminster is taking a citywide approach to improving access to public toilets, with council endorsing a new strategy containing 29 recommendations and deciding not to proceed with a proposed standalone toilet on Begbie Street.
The five-year strategy, beginning in September 2026, focuses on making public toilets more accessible, available and easier to find for residents and visitors, including seniors, families, people with disabilities and people experiencing homelessness.
The city currently maintains more than 280 public toilets across 31 locations, but the strategy identifies gaps in operating hours, seasonal access and accessibility.
Early priorities include new toilets at the western section of Westminster Pier Park, improved signage and printed information, and partnerships aimed at expanding late-night access.
In 2027, toilets are planned for 801–824 Agnes Street and Old Schoolhouse Park in Queensborough, along with accessibility upgrades and a public reporting tool for washroom maintenance issues. An interactive online public toilet map is planned for 2028.
About $430,000 remaining from the Begbie Street project budget will instead support short-term strategy initiatives.
