Looking for fresh energy and enthusiastic volunteers? Nonprofits and registered charities will have an opportunity to connect with Douglas College students at the 2026 Volunteer Fair in New Westminster.

The event takes place Thursday, October 1, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Douglas College, 700 Royal Avenue.

The fair is designed to help nonprofit organizations and registered charities promote their missions, showcase volunteer opportunities and connect with students interested in getting involved in the community.

For participating organizations, it’s a chance to expand their volunteer base, build awareness and potentially welcome talented Douglas College students to their teams.

Registration is currently open for organizations interested in taking part. The event includes setup from 10:45 to 11 a.m., followed by the four-hour volunteer fair.

Whether an organization needs help with community programs, events or other initiatives, the fair offers a space to meet students and introduce them to meaningful volunteer opportunities.

Get ready for a weekend of handmade finds, Halloween spirit and community fun as the All Hallows’ Eve Craft Market returns to New Westminster’s Sapperton neighbourhood.

The market runs October 3 and 4 at Sapperton Hall, 318 Keary Street, featuring a lineup of vendors and plenty of opportunities to browse for unique treasures.

Doors are open Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $5, while children 12 and under can enter free. Seniors 65 and over also receive free admission on Sunday.

There’s an extra reason to stop by Sunday: visitors can enter a free raffle, with gift baskets packed with prizes from participating vendors and more. The draw takes place at 3 p.m. Sunday.

Partial proceeds from the event will go to Royal Columbian Hospital, adding a community-minded touch to the weekend.

Free two-hour parking is available on Keary Street—just be sure to check the posted signs. Sapperton SkyTrain Station is also nearby, making transit an easy option.
