Is Your Voter Registration Up to Date?

If you're planning to vote in the 2026 General Local Election, now is the perfect time to make sure you're registered and ready.

The City of New Westminster is reminding residents to register or update their voter information with Elections BC by August 18, 2026. Keeping your information current helps ensure a smoother voting experience and confirms you're on the voters list before election day.

If you've recently moved, changed your name, or are unsure whether your registration is up to date, it's worth taking a few minutes to check. Registering in advance can save time and help avoid delays when it's time to cast your ballot.

Residents can register or update their information online through Elections BC or by calling 1-800-661-8683.

Voting is one of the simplest ways to have a voice in your community, and making sure you're registered is the first step toward participating in this fall's local election.

Do you know a local business that's gone above and beyond? Now's your chance to help recognize the people and organizations making New Westminster thrive.

The New Westminster Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Business Excellence Awards, an evening dedicated to celebrating the businesses, organizations, and leaders who make a lasting impact on the community.

The awards recognize excellence across 13 categories, honouring everyone from innovative entrepreneurs and small businesses to established companies and community champions.

The awards gala will take place on Saturday, November 14, 2026, bringing together New Westminster's business community for an evening of celebration, networking, and recognition.

If you know a deserving business or leader, be sure to submit a nomination before the September 14, 2026 deadline. The Chamber will contact nominees with the next steps after submissions close.

Sponsorship opportunities are also available for organizations looking to support one of New Westminster's premier business events.
