Discover the stories that shaped New Westminsterโ€™s waterfront during the upcoming Our Working Waterfront Walking Tour hosted by the New Westminster Museum & Archives on June 7.

The guided morning walk will take participants along the cityโ€™s historic waterfront while exploring the people, industries, and landmarks that helped build New Westminster into a thriving riverfront community. Led by museum staff, the tour offers a chance to learn more about the cityโ€™s maritime roots and evolving waterfront culture through local stories and hidden historical details.

The experience wraps up at Steel & Oak Brewing Co., giving guests the opportunity to continue conversations about New Westminsterโ€™s past while enjoying one of the cityโ€™s modern waterfront gathering spaces.

The walking tour runs from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. starting at 788 Quayside Drive. Registration is required, and tickets are $5.

A powerful and heartfelt new theatre production is coming to Massey Theatre this June. We All Need A Home, presented by the Self Advocate Theatre Company, explores the importance of safe and accessible housing for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through storytelling rooted in real lived experiences.

Created and performed by a talented cast of self-advocates, the production blends emotion, humour, and advocacy while shining a spotlight on inclusion, independence, and community connection.

Performances take place on June 4 at 7 p.m., June 5 at 12:30 p.m., and June 6 at 4 p.m. at Massey Theatre in New Westminster. Following each show, audiences are invited to stay for a special Talk Back session with the actors and co-creators.

The production also features accessible performances with ASL interpretation, captions, relaxed theatre settings, sensory-friendly spaces, and wheelchair seating to help ensure an inclusive experience for all attendees.
