🍾 Festive Networking Night Returns for New West Businesses 🤝 

The local business community is gearing up for a festive night out as the New West Business Winter Social returns on December 4. Hosted at the Sapperton Pensioners Community Hall, the evening will bring together members from five key partner organizations — the Chamber of Commerce, Uptown BIA, Downtown BIA, the Sapperton Businesses Collective, and Tourism New West — with support from the City of New Westminster.

Guests can look forward to a relaxed evening of networking, local refreshments, and seasonal hospitality as business owners, staff, and community partners come together to celebrate a year of collaboration and creativity. The event offers a warm setting to reconnect with familiar faces, welcome new members, and build momentum heading into the new year.

Attendance is invite-only and reserved for members of the partner organizations, along with their staff or significant others. Elected officials currently in office are also welcome. To keep the focus on meaningful business connections, the event will not be open to the general public.

🎄 Holiday Craft Market + Operation Irv (Christmas Card Edition)

There’s something special happening on Twelfth Street this season — something that goes beyond shopping, crafts, and cozy holiday cheer. This year’s Holiday Craft Market isn’t just a festive gathering of talented New Westminster artisans… it’s also becoming a heartfelt mission to brighten one remarkable man’s Christmas.

On Saturday, November 29, from 10am to 2pm, Gastaldo Tailors’ charming retail shop transforms into a warm, bustling holiday market filled with handmade treasures — from modern crochet and custom-designed totes to beeswax candles, lavender sachets, and whimsical fabric pouches. It’s the perfect place to find gifts with heart.

But the most meaningful part of the day lives at the centre of a simple cardboard mailbox.

✨ Operation Irv: Christmas Card Edition

Recently, New Westminster’s beloved veteran Irv Radatzke celebrated his 100th birthday — just days after Remembrance Day. A century of kindness, service, and neighbourly generosity has made Irv a true pillar of our community.

And now, our community wants to give something back.

The goal?
100 Christmas cards for 100 extraordinary years.

At the Holiday Craft Market, visitors will find a small station dedicated to Operation Irv, complete with free cards ready to be written and dropped into a little mailbox on-site. A warm message, a simple thank-you, a wish for joy — every card is a gift of love and recognition to a man who has spent a lifetime giving to others.
