At Oxygen Yoga & Fitness in New Westminster, BC, the front door opens to more than a
workout studio. It opens to a place where people are known, welcomed, and supported.
The studio was created with a simple goal: to bring something healthy and positive to
the community. After 13 years, that idea has grown into a busy, warm, and loyal yoga
and fitness family. “Honestly, we opened the yoga studio with the intent to give back
something positive to the community,” Says Lindsey Flintoff, one of the owners of the
business.
Their company already knew business through years in the restaurant industry. But
Oxygen Yoga & Fitness offered something different. It was a chance to support health,
wellness, and connection in New Westminster.
That same feeling shaped the studio.

Today, Oxygen Yoga & Fitness New Westminster has become a place where regulars
greet each other like old friends. Some members have been coming since the doors first
opened. Others walk in for the first time unsure of what to expect, then discover a space
that feels safe and encouraging.
Lindsey says the studio has built its momentum through real relationships. People meet in class, chat in the lobby, and support each other through life’s ups and downs.
Despite the name, Oxygen Yoga & Fitness New Westminster is not only about yoga. Lindsey says many people are surprised to learn the studio is about 80% fitness classes.
Members can find cardio, strength training, high-energy workouts, yoga, and deep
stretch classes. Some classes are intense and fast-paced. Others are slow, calm, and
restorative.
Everything takes place in a heated infrared studio, which adds to the unique Oxygen experience. There are about 95 classes each week, led by a team of roughly 30 instructors. The studio runs throughout the day, making it easier for people with different schedules to join.
For those who want a quiet reset, the deep stretch classes offer a softer option. For those who want a strong workout, there are plenty of fitness-focused choices too.
Oxygen Yoga & Fitness is proud to sponsor the Rotary Pot of Gold Golf Tournament July 14, 2026 at Mayfair Lakes
Community is at the heart of Oxygen Yoga & Fitness. Lindsey says the team cares about the people who come through the door, not just their fitness goals.
The studio celebrates birthdays, first classes, milestones, and small personal wins. Staff are encouraged to offer kindness in simple ways, from cards to flowers to checking in when someone seems off.
That care often reaches beyond the studio walls. Oxygen has also supported local causes, including Rotary initiatives in New Westminster. Lindsey sees that kind of support as part of being a good neighbour.
“I think just do it because it’s the right thing to do,” she said when speaking about local
businesses giving back. For her, community support is not about attention. It is about
helping good work continue.

At Oxygen Yoga & Fitness, movement is not only about strength or calories. It is also about mental health, routine, and feeling better from the inside out.
Some members come for a hard workout. Others come because showing up was the biggest win of their day. Lindsay believes both reasons matter.
The studio has seen people lean on its community during very hard seasons of life. For Lindsey, those moments are a reminder that fitness spaces can be deeply human places. They can offer comfort, confidence, and connection.
The message is simple: come as you are.
From heated fitness classes to quiet moments of care, Oxygen Yoga & Fitness continues to build strength and connection in New Westminster.
Whether someone wants to sweat, stretch, reset, or simply feel part of a supportive local community, Oxygen offers a welcoming place to begin.

A sentencing hearing is underway in New Westminster for a woman who previously pleaded guilty to multiple offences connected to a child sex trafficking case.
Jennifer Stephens, 31, pleaded guilty to 17 criminal charges, including offences related to human trafficking, assault, unlawful confinement, and sexual assault involving a minor. During the first day of the hearing, the court reviewed evidence detailing violence and abuse inflicted on victims connected to the case.
According to court proceedings, the Crown is seeking a 13-year prison sentence. The case originated from a 2023 investigation launched by Langley RCMP after concerns were raised about a 13-year-old trafficking victim whose services had been advertised online.
The court heard evidence describing the exploitation of multiple victims and the use of violence, coercion, and intimidation. Victim impact statements are expected to be presented as the sentencing hearing continues.
Publication bans remain in place to protect the identities of victims involved in the case.
Every step can make a difference. The Seniors Services Society of BC is inviting the community to lace up their walking shoes and join the 2026 Walk of Ages on June 14 at Mercer Stadium and Track in Uptown New Westminster.
The annual fundraiser supports housing navigation, advocacy, and support programs that help vulnerable seniors find and maintain safe housing, ensuring they don’t face homelessness alone.
Beyond the walk itself, participants can enjoy a lively morning filled with music from a live DJ, a children's craft zone, swag bags, door prizes, a 50/50 draw, and a continental brunch provided by the Royal Canadian Legion.
Organizers say the event is a fun and meaningful way for families, friends, and neighbours to come together while supporting local seniors in need. Registration is $10 per person or $30 for a family/team of four, with all proceeds helping fund essential services throughout the year.
Whether you walk one lap or many, every step helps build a stronger, more caring community.
