A new year is the perfect time to refresh your recycling habits, and the City of New Westminster’s 2026 solid waste collection brochure is here to help make it easier than ever. This handy guide goes far beyond pickup dates, offering clear, practical tips to help households recycle smarter and reduce waste all year long.

Inside, residents will find easy-to-follow information on what belongs in each cart (and what doesn’t), how to avoid contamination, when and how to set carts out properly, recycling depot locations, and answers to frequently asked questions. The brochure is designed to support both single-family and multi-family homes, with guidance that reflects the diverse living situations across New Westminster.

Whether you’re new to the city or simply looking to fine-tune your routine, this resource is a great way to start 2026 on the right track. Small actions at home can make a big difference for our community and the environment.

Let’s make 2026 a cleaner, greener year for New Westminster!

This January, the Rainbow Chorus of New Westminster invites the community to an inspiring night of music with “Be The Change: Songs of Reflection and Empowerment.” Taking place at Sanctuary on 6th, this uplifting concert celebrates growth, unity, and hope through the powerful shared experience of choral music.

The program weaves together stirring works that encourage reflection and resilience, anchored by Chris Maunu’s May We Not Return and Jacob Narverud’s Be the Change. Each piece amplifies authentic voices and meaningful stories, creating an inclusive musical landscape that speaks to courage, transformation, and community connection.

With rich harmonies and thoughtful texts, the Rainbow Chorus invites audiences of all ages to pause, reflect, and imagine new possibilities—both individually and together. Whether you’re a longtime choral music lover or attending your first concert, this evening promises warmth, inspiration, and a sense of belonging.

Doors open at 6:30 pm. Come early, settle in, and be part of a night where music truly moves hearts.
